Lights, Camera, Action

How effective is paper chasn'? Of course like all of my other blogs this one too is inspired by music. Sociery puts so much pressure on us, not just to succeed, but to be the greatest. Ironically that's why most peoplel fail at life. Their minds surpass comfortable living arangements, and only see the flashing lights at the end of the tunnel. Notice that i said flashing lights rather than the blinding white light at the end of the tunnel. My reasoning being that its not obtainable for all people. Everyone gets a glimspe of it but when they get to the end of the tunnel, for some people the light is no longer shinning. These are the unsing stories. Again it's amazing to me because these unsung stories heavily outweigh the famous rags to riches tales. Yet we only here of the hood to Hollywoods.

Hey I completely understand america's choice to provide positive examples. However, Americans need to take the responsibility of educating our youth. Helping them to understand that not everyone can obtain the spotlight. There's nothing wrong with living within comfortable means. All lawyers can't be Johhny Cockran.

Just because you become their biggest fan, and follow them, doesn't ensure that they're gonna take your picture. ;)

Texas Hold Em

I tend to use quotes and sayings in alot of my everyday life. The one that popped in my mind today was "You can only play the cards you were dealt." Its funny because we as people always blame our backgrounds or upbringings for the end result of our life. Or where we are at the moment. But the way I see it is, life is like Texas hold Em. How? Well were all dealt a hand of cards. These cards are given to you in a specific order, after they've been shuffled. Your only allowed so many. Theres no way you could possibly know what cards are coming to you, but you look to each as if it were your last. You put certain ones together, and in your mind you push some aside. They are your give -aways. In your mind they aren't as valuable as the others. They are actually dispensable, because you know that in due time they can be traded in in hopes of better ones. These are our material things, they come and they go, but only the corect combination makes for comfortable living. For Instance if one has a television but no electricity, then it is as if he has no tv.

However, one who's mastered the game is precise, and patient. He knows that the worse hand in the beginning has the potential to become the best in the end.So he
calculates and then he makes moves. A seasoned player has to know when to Hold Em, and when to let them go. But most importantly he knows how to do so with composure, you will never see him sweat.

So like I was saying, a player can only play with the cards he has. When its time to reveal nothing else matters but the cards that you have in your hand, in comparison to the other players.

I guess im saying, you can't blame the dealer because you have a bad hand. You knew there was a possibility of you getting a bad hand when you started. Nothing is life is promised, we live day to day off the good graces of God. Some of those in the world are more fortunate than others. But we all must remember that everything that glitters isn't gold.

Our goal should be to try to become that seasoned player. Because to the outside man looking in, he seems to have a good hand. He will never let you know that its simply an excellent POKER FACE.

just some food for thought... i guess ima little bored lol

LOL Smiley Face

What ever happened to meaning and substance?

This is the question I ask myself everytime I turn on the radio. This is the reason why the use of the radio isn't permitted in my vehicle. Anyway, it hurts my heart to know that half of my generation knows nothing about the roots of Hip Hop, and the liberation associated with it. And yes it really bothers me when kids tell me that Soulja Boy Tell Em is they favorite rapper. He dont even rap. Don't get me wrong, I respect his huslte but he is garbage.

What happened to real music? Well here's my theory. Since the beginning of Hip Hop there has always been these whack rappers amoung the greats, however the listeners were able to puzzle out the good from the bad and keep certain music in its place. As time went on Hip Hop became more mainstream, and people who weren't true fans began to listen right along with the HIPHOPFANATICS. As the saying goes, to each his own. As America tuned in, these (whack) songs won the radio battle, forcing Hip Hops subtance underground. If you ever pay attention the hardest songs are those that dont get much radio time, because they dont make you lean and rock. The best songs on a cd are never the Singles. They are the songs that most people don't take the time to listen to.

Trust me there will be more on the matter but for now, i leave you with this.
The songs that i sing, to you are my ev-r-y-thing.

MY 1ST SONG

HUH. LIKE IM NOT ONE FOR SHARING BUT I GUESS I'LL TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT TONIGHT. TODAY I REALIZED SOMETHING THATS GOING TO STICK WITH ME FOR A MINUTE OR SO. ERYKAH BADU HAS A SONG AND IN IT SHE SAYS SHE TOOK A MINUTE TO RE-EVALUTE ALL OF THE THINGS SHE THINKS ARE SPECIAL. SO I TOOK THE TIME TO DO SO. I REALIZED THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE FIT IN THAT CATEGORY. STAY WITH ME NOW THIS WOULD BE THE IMPORTANT GROUP. SO LIKE EVERYNIGHT I OPENED ITUNES AND PUSHED MY FAVORITE PLAYLIST AT THE MOMENT, THIS BEING BLUEPRINT BY NONE OTHER THAN JAY-Z, AND I LISTENED. I DIDNT SPEAK, I DIDNT NOD, I JUST LISTENED. SO OFTEN WE OVERLOOK SUBSTANCE, AND LOOK TO CONVIENCE. SO I LET IT PLAY, AS I LISTENED. NOW I LOVE THE WHOLE ALBULM BUT, NATURALLY I HAVE FAVORITES. ONE BEIN SONG CRY. NOW BY NOW YOUR PROBABLY ASKING YOURSELF WHAT THIS HAS TO DO WITH ANYTHING. BUT YOU MUST REMEMBER THAT I LIVE MY LIFE THROUGH MY MUSIC. SO TONIGHT THROUGH THIS SONG I GUESS IM CHOOSING TO CRACK A SEALED SAFE.

ICANT SEE EM COMIN DOWN MY EYES SO I GOTTA LET THIS SONG CRY.

THESE WORDS ARE INDICATIVE OF MY ATTITUDE TOWARDS LIFE, SO TO SPEAK. IM SICKA THEN YA AVERAGE, COINED BY BIGGIE, BUT CONFIRMED BY YOURS TRULY. IM NOT ONE TO LET PEOPLE COMPLETELY INTO MY WORLD. IN OTHER WORDS I TEND TO BUILD BARRIERS, SOMETIMES THEY CAN BE SMALL LIKE SCREENS AND OTHER TIMES THEY CAN RESEMBLE BRICK WALLS. HENCE MY REASON FOR LOVING THE SONG HALO. NEWAY, IVE MADE MYSELF INTO A PERSON WHO REFUSES TO CRY SO ID MUCH RATHER LET SONGS CRY. THE WORD CRY STANDING FOR ALL EMOTION THAT CAN BE USED AGAINST ME. LOL. IN MY OPINION THOSE WHO WEAR THEIR HEARTS ON THEIR SLEVES, HAVE DRAMA. SO I ALLOW MY MUSIC TO BEAR MY EMOTION. IT ALLOWS ME TO TAKE THAT MINUTE AND RE-EVALUATE WHATS IMPORTANT.

SO AS I WAS SAYN I TOOK THAT MINUTE AND I REALIZED THAT MY REAL FRIENDS ARE ONLY THE ONES WHO WERE ABLE TO BREAK DOWN MY WALLS, AND SEE ME FOR ME. THEY REALIZE THAT I NEVER NEEDED A SONG TO DESCRIBE ANYTHING TO THEM. WITH THEM IM PERFECTLY ABLE TO DISPLAY EMOTION AND NOT FEEL AT ALL VULERABLE. AND I LOVE THEM FOR THAT.
